A MARKETING campaign that provoked ‘car rage' among some of Britain's motoring writers by converting the iconic playground game Top Trumps to promote green vehicles is up for an award.

Climate change charity Marches Energy Agency isn't often listed alongside major car manufacturers, but it is competing with BMW and Citroen for the GreenFleet ‘Green Marketing Campaign of the Year'.

Marches Energy Agency Marks 10 Years

 

AN environmental charity launched by one person in Shropshire long before global warming moved to the centre of the political agenda marks its 10th birthday this week (THURSDAY 18 SEPTEMBER) as one of Britain's top climate change organisations.

Marches Energy Agency's mission is to bring about more sustainable use and generation of energy through education, demonstration and inspiration.

It's a far cry from September 1998 when the fledging sustainable energy initiative began life in a small office in the Shirehall in Shrewsbury.

Bioenergy Guide Showcases Sustainable Solutions to Energy Crisis

In a week marked by record increases in energy prices a new Bioenergy guide has been launched to raise awareness of technologies which offer a way out of the peak oil pinch. The Bioenergy Guide was been launched at the On-Farm Anaerobic Digestion seminar which was held at Walford College on Tuesday 5th August, an event attended by 80 delegates from around the country.

Salop Leisure Supports Climate Change Charity Roadshow

Shrewsbury based caravan and leisure company Salop Leisure have generously supplied the Light Fantastic project with essential items to get the exhibition on the road.

Seven Cycling Churchmen's Climate Change Commitment

Seven Bishops from four continents have pledged to cycle or walk 450 miles each this year rather than driving. This public commitment for action on climate change was made on Saturday, 12th July at Leominster Priory, Herefordshire. 

 

More Shropshire Businesses Going the Extra (Green) Mile

FOR the past year, Shrewsbury’s Marches Energy Agency has been assisting businesses in Shropshire to access grants and assistance to reduce their fuel bills and generate their own power.
